Use the Walmart Growth Opportunities report
Learn how to see which products Walmart shoppers are searching for, and list the ones you already stock.
Walmart tells us which items shoppers are actively looking for on Walmart.com. The Walmart Growth Opportunities report puts that demand next to your own catalog, so you can see at a glance which in-demand items you already stock but have not listed on Walmart yet — and publish them in a couple of clicks.
Before you start: authorize Walmart access
Walmart granted Listing Mirror access to its growth data after most sellers connected their store, so an existing Walmart connection carries no access to the demand feed until you re-authorize it. Almost every account needs to do this once.
- Look for the banner at the top of the app: Unlock Walmart demand insights for [your store].
- Click Authorize Walmart Access and sign in to Walmart when prompted.
If you have already dismissed the banner, you can start the same flow from Integrations > Manage Integrations > find your Walmart store > Refresh Credentials.
Re-authorizing takes about a minute and does not change your listings, inventory, orders, or settings. It only adds the Analytics & Growth permissions the report needs.
Your first batch of data arrives on the next sync. After that, the report refreshes four times a day.
Growth Opportunities is available for Walmart US stores connected through Walmart's authorization flow. Walmart Canada stores do not have this data.
Open the report
- Go to Reports > Walmart Growth Opportunities.
- If you have more than one Walmart store, pick the one you want from the Walmart store menu in the top right.
What the summary numbers mean
The four tiles across the top of the report describe every customer favorite for the selected store, not just the rows you have filtered to:
- Customer favorites — how many in-demand items Walmart is reporting for your store.
- Match your catalog — how many of those items you already have a product for in Listing Mirror. These are ready to list.
- Low competition — items with fewer than 10 sellers currently offering them on Walmart.
- Avg. current offers — the average number of sellers per item.
Read the table
- Item — the product title and GTIN from Walmart's catalog.
- Category — Walmart's category and product type for the item.
- Demand — how strongly shoppers are searching for it: Very High, High, or Medium. Underneath, the top search keywords driving that demand.
- Buy Box — the current Walmart buy box price.
- Current Offers — how many sellers are offering the item today. Anything under 10 also gets a Low competition flag.
- Your Stock — Match plus your on-hand quantity and the matching SKU when the item is already in your catalog, or No catalog match when it is not.
- Action — List on Walmart for a matched item, or Add to Catalog for one you do not carry yet.
An item is matched to your catalog by GTIN or UPC. If a product of yours has neither, it cannot be matched, and the item will show as No catalog match even though you stock it.
Filter, sort, and export
- Use the search box to filter by item title, GTIN, or category.
- Use Match to show only Catalog match or only No match items.
- Use Demand to narrow to Very High, High, or Medium.
- Click any column heading to sort by it. Click again to reverse the order.
- Click Export CSV to download exactly the rows you are looking at.
Changing a filter clears any rows you had selected, so a hidden row can never ride along into a bulk action.
List one item on Walmart
- Click List on Walmart on a matched row, or Add to Catalog on a row you do not stock yet. Both open the List on Walmart window.
- Choose a listing source:
- Quick Match (recommended) — Listing Mirror seeds the listing from Walmart's own catalog data: title, images, and attributes are already filled in. You only supply your SKU, price, and inventory.
- Listing Mirror Product Data — publish using your own title, images, and description, with full control over how the listing reads.
- Check Pricing & inventory. Your price is pre-filled just under the current buy box, and you can change it. For an item that is not in your catalog yet, confirm the SKU you want to use.
- Click Publish 1 to Walmart.
Listing Mirror queues the listing and you are pointed at your Walmart Channel Summary to watch its status.
When the item already matches one of your SKUs, its inventory mirrors from that SKU across every channel you sell on, the same as any other listing.
You can list a matched item that is currently Out of stock. The listing is created and stays at zero quantity until you have units to sell.
List several items at once
- Tick the checkbox on each row you want, or tick the box in the header to select every row currently on screen.
- The bar above the table shows how many items you picked and how many of them are already in your catalog.
- Click Bulk List on Walmart.
- Choose your listing source and click Publish [n] to Walmart.
On the Listing Mirror Product Data path, items that are not in your catalog yet are skipped — there is no product content to publish. Use Quick Match for those, and Listing Mirror will build the product from Walmart's catalog data.
Where else you will see customer favorites
You do not have to open the report to act on this data.
- Dashboard — a Walmart Growth Opportunity card summarizing how many customer favorites match your catalog, with your top three matches.
- Manage Listings — a Customer Favorite column in the Walmart column group, and a flame badge on the Walmart status of any row that is a customer favorite. Click the chip to open the same List on Walmart window. If the column is hidden, clicking the flame badge adds it back to your view.
- Walmart Channel Summary — an Opportunities tab with the same report embedded, plus a count of how many opportunities are waiting.
On Manage Listings and the Channel Summary, the flame and the chip only appear on items that match one of your SKUs, are not on Walmart yet, and are not restricted from the channel.
Troubleshooting
"No customer favorites for this store yet."
- Confirm you have authorized Walmart access for that store. Without it, no data is collected at all.
- Give it a sync cycle. Data lands on the next refresh after you authorize, and the report refreshes four times a day.
- Walmart only recommends items that already exist in its catalog. A brand-new account with no sales history may not receive recommendations yet.
Every row says "No catalog match"
Matching is done on GTIN and UPC. If your products in Listing Mirror do not carry those identifiers, nothing can match. Add the GTIN or UPC to your products and the matches will appear on a later refresh.
An item disappeared from the report
The report mirrors Walmart's current recommendations. When Walmart stops recommending an item to you, it drops off the report on the next refresh.
Good to know
- Growth Opportunities is a read-only report. Nothing is sent to Walmart until you click through the List on Walmart window.
- Demand, buy box price, and offer counts come from Walmart's In-Demand Items data and refresh four times a day.
- Your stock figure and SKU match come from your own Listing Mirror catalog and are current whenever you load the report.
