How did I get an order for a SKU with zero quantity in stock?

Learn the reasons a SKU could oversell even though it is out-of-stock.

While it may not happen often, it's possible to oversell an item that is listed on multiple marketplaces.

Use the troubleshooting steps below to figure out the reason this might have happened:

Step 1: Review Inventory History

The Inventory History page is a record of changes in the quantity of a SKU and the reason the change occurred. To find inventory history, follow the steps outlined here: Review Inventory History of a Product

When an order has been received for a SKU with zero quantity, use Inventory History to view the last time quantities were updated prior to the sale. Is it possible quantities were manually updated outside of Listing Mirror or using inventory management software that isn't integrated with Listing Mirror? Learn more

Step 2: Does the marketplace listing have an error or incomplete message?

Listing Mirror is not able to sync quantity updates when the listing has a marketplace error or incomplete status.

To view the listing, go to Listings > Manage Listings > search for the SKU > if the listing status is "Error" or "Incomplete", click the edit icon in the marketplace column for more info.

Step 3: Review reasons a SKU could show as having a negative quantity in Listing Mirror.
